While at one level this assertion is indisputable, to assert this casually obscures one of the most subtle and most distinctive features of Qurʾānic ethics, namely that the Qurʾān very frequently specifies that one ought to act according to norms not specified in the Qurʾān, that is, one is to have recourse to sources of ethical knowledge located elsewhere than in Revelation. This paper will justify this assertion, and then explore the implications of a Revelational specification to follow non-Revelational moral norms. Preliminarily such a doctrine would seem consistent with features of Qurʾānic anthropology and cosmology which, in contrast, for example, with most forms of Christianity, diminished the categorical difference between the Next world and This one, and between human nature and human potential. Some possible different workings-out of this ethical system for Imāmī-Shīʿī and Sunnī Islam will be considered as well. برخی از پیامدهای این نظام اخلاقی برای اسلام شیعیِ امامی و اسلام سنی نیز مورد ملاحظه قرار خواهد گرفت. https://ethics.isramags.ir/article_16625_d8fcb75fcebc1e38dbd104647745a55b.pdfپژوهشگاه علوم وحیانی معارجاخلاق وحیانی2383-30255220151023Religious Ethics and Moral Realismاخلاق دینی و واقعگرایی اخلاقی266416634FAحاج محمد لگنهوسناستاد مؤسسه آموزشی و پژوهشی امام خمینی (ره)Journal Article20160801The purpose of this paper is to explore the relations between various forms of moral realism and some views about religious ethics, particularly, religious ethics in the Islamic tradition, although much of what is said will apply to ethical views in other religious traditions, as well. First, there is a brief historical review of the rise of moral realism in the twentieth century. Second, the major types of moral realism are distinguished. Third, it is argued that for each of the major types of moral realism, from robust moral realism to minimalist moral realism, religious views of ethics can be formulated that are compatible with both realism and its denial. In each case, however, the religious ethicist must pay a price for taking on realism or its denial. Finally, it is argued that the position taken by major Muslim philosophers in the tradition of Ibn Sina through Mulla Sadra is one that concurs with the non-realist position on a number of significant points. Journal Article20160424The question of truth in both practical and theoretical reason is raised. And attempts to ignore it have not been compelling and efficient. Human access to truth is a complex process which, as Kant observed, that in addition to sensory data are needed to concepts such as causality. And concepts did not derive from the human individual effort but are the results of human culture and collective work. So our efforts to attain to knowledge is dependent on other people, and therefore, to the common mentality. This means that the role of "discourse" in our knowledge of the world; in other words, knowledge is achieved in a process of dialogue. Naturally, this process has conditions and laws that arises in the logic of dialogue. This set of rules forms an ethics of knowledge that is that a formal system of reference for conflict resolution. This code is applicable not only in access to knowledge but it can be extended to the field of individual and collective human actions to solve problems of human. That is how human to avoid violence and war leads to dialogue as a promising process for resolving human problems. 2383-30255220151023Is it really better to give than to receive? But can this maxim withstand a careful analysis? The relevant concepts (“giving”, “receiving”, and “better”) can be interpreted in too many ways to discuss thoroughly in a single essay. Instead, this essay classifies the various ways of interpreting the distinction between giving and receiving, then explores in depth one of the options, based on a pivotal distinction between active and passive types of both giving and receiving. I defend the controversial claim that there is at least one important sense (arguably the most important, for ethical purposes) in which it is not better to give than receive, but precisely the opposite. Indeed, the survival of the human race may depend on our willingness to receive. 2383-30255220151023Rationality and Religious Ethics; The Discussion on an Autonomous Moral in Catholic Theologyعقلانیت و اخلاق دینی ـ بحث در اخلاق خود بنیاد در الاهیات کاتولیک9610816639FAپیتر نوینراستاد دانشگاه مونیخ آلمانJournal Article20160524The debate of moral foundations is one of the important issues in the sphere of ethics. So, the authority of reason or religion for moral values has always been debated. The article shows that the moral values have the moral authority. This view is supported by the Bible and Christian theologians. In fact, Bible's values are the same values of reason. This interpretation of autonomy can be considered the line between Kant's theory and the theory of the divine. The author believes that the belief in the moral autonomy can provide non-partisan platform for dialogue between cultures and religions. 2383-30255220151023Euthanasia in the Major World Religionsآتانازی در ادیان بزرگ جهان10912016640FAآنجلیکا زیاکااستادیار دانشگاه ارسطو یونانJournal Article20160518“Euthanasia” or voluntary termination of life is one the most complicated issues in the moral, legal and religious debates nowadays. In the meantime, the role of religions in directing the views of researchers is obvious. In this article, a brief look at the different religions of the world to the issue of euthanasia (whether in the form of active or passive) will be provided as much as possible and we will analyze these ideas. At first, we study three monotheistic religions, Islam, Christianity and Judaism. Hinduism and Jainism, then, will be examined and finally, Far Eastern religions such as Buddhism, Taoism, Confucianism and Shinto school will say about euthanasia. Journal Article20160517To be peacemakers as the Christian scriptures imagine is to participate in the original peace of God’s creation. There is also a tradition within the Christian faith that seeks to lessen the distinction between peace as a goal and peace as a way of life and has sought to view peace as an uncompromising mandate. This tradition holds peace to be a Christian calling, a calling to return to the original peace in the God's creation. While peace is never fully embodied on earth, it would be irrelevant if it were not expressible in some measure in time/space existence, and also it would be meaningless to embody it without appealing to the original peace that God has placed in the creation. This account of peace is a shared, fundamental notion in the three monotheistic religions; furthermore it has close relations with the notion of social friendship developed by Aristotle. This is while in the secular, modern society, neither there is any peace in its monotheistic sense nor in its Aristotelian sense of friendship. But the structure of contemporary society could be formed in another way, and making use of peacemaking and deep sources of our religious traditions can help us in doing so.
